Dr. Mohan’s National Study on Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) Featured in Local 10 News Interview

Dr. Mohan led a groundbreaking national study that revealed the underutilization of Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) compared to surgical options. The study was so impactful that it was selected by the Society of Interventional Radiology for a press release and gained widespread attention in the medical community. Following this recognition, Dr. Mohan was featured in an ABC Local 10 news interview, where he discussed the benefits of this minimally invasive treatment for fibroids and the importance of increasing its utilization.

Dr. Mohan discussed the groundbreaking use of radioembolization, also known as Y-90 treatment, for an aggressive liver cancer in a 2-year-old child. This marked the first time this treatment was ever attempted in a patient of such a young age. The procedure successfully shrunk the tumor, making it possible for the child to undergo a life-saving liver transplant.
